Rewiring a house is a  big concern to most people as they do not know what to expect. How much a  house rewire will cost or even when there electrics where originally installed and whether  they  were  installed correctly in the first place . This starts to become  a big worry  thinking about if your electrics in your home are safe or not .So how do you know when rewiring  or upgrading is necessary?  Ie possibly a new fuse board,or main earth cables etc . if you need a local electrician near me ? then we are here 4you

It is recommended that a periodic inspection (EICR) is carried out by a registered electrician at least every 10 years for an owner-occupied dwelling and five years for a rental property or at the change of tenancy. This Electrical Installation Condition Reports or landlord electrical checks in the public rental sector can determine what state your house electrics are in and can give you an idea of whether  you need to possibly just update your electrics for example an upgrade on your fuse box. Or even if you need a full / partial rewire carrying out.

If a property is more than 30 years old and has the original wiring, it is likely to need updating, at least in part to meet modern standards of the IEE WIRING REGULATIONS  BS7671 18th edition.Maybe  including replacing the fuse box with a modern consumer unit  incorporating rcd protection. Updating of the main earthing protection .Dated rubber cables, fabric or lead-insulated cables are a sign you will most likely need a rewire.  More up to date cables consist of  PVCu coated with solid copper cabling , coloured grey or white, with an internal seperate earth cpc.

Old fuse boards with no rcd protection installed  that are housing rewirbale fuses ( bs 3036) or cartridge fuses (bs 1361) even those with older mcbs can be signs of an ageing electrical system.

Old and faulty wiring can cause electrical systems to trip frequently or blow fuses or, ,it can even cause a spark and potentialy cause a  house fire or electrical shock to persons or livestock .

Socket outlets with no rockers built on to them can be a sign of older electrics.Sockets situated onto the skirting boards, Ceiling pendants with ultra thin twinned cables hanging down. these are just a few signs of an ageing system

Electrician4you can carry out electrical inspection condition reports (eicr) which could be your first step to a peace of mind with your electrics.

Alternatively we can carry out full or part rewires or just upgrades to your existing house electrics. fuse boards, earth cables etc

please feel free to get in touch with your local electrical contractors for your free quotes for your house rewires.

Electrician4you were brilliant, I wasn't sure if a couple of small jobs would warrant coming out for but from the start of coming to price up the job to the finishing product, all was great and we're very friendly. Very swift and reasonable. I'm extremely happy with my new light, fixed light and plug socket, thank you very much!

Kevin was polite, professional and knowledgeable. He works to high standard, fitting a blown spotlight and an external floodlight. He even gave me back some cash as it was an easier job than he thought. Very honest, reliable and fair. Highly recommended!

Contacted Kevin by phone, as i had a problem with a trip switch constantly tripping. He turned up in less than 15 minutes and had the problem under control in no time at all. I don’t think you could get better service anywhere. Highly recommend. Thanks Peter

Brilliant service. Can't fault them at all, Kevin tried to diagnose the issue over the phone to save a visit and me money but he did have to come out the next day and fixed the issue quickly. Clean and tidy work, really appreciated.
